10 Most Beautiful Board Games

This is the Collection Starter and here are the 10 Most Beautiful Board Games Ever Made.

5. Fireball Island *

Hooray for restoration games.

Not only are the company that makes Unmatched, which would be beautiful enough to go on this list if the game’s boards matched the jaw-dropping art on the cards, but they’re also dedicated to taking classic games from yesteryear, and giving them a modern revamp, replete with a fresh coat of sexy paint.

Their most ostentatious sexy success would Fireball Island, a redesign of the 80s classic.

This is what the 80s game looked like, this is what Restoration Games’ version looks like.

Oof. Look at the big toy.

You play explorers moving around an island, trying to grab items, avoiding the dreaded fireballs of Vul-Kar, this big mouthed bastard in the middle. Every so often his head turns, fireballs go in and roll out, and you don’t want to be in the way when that happens.

Proper Indiana Jones, nostalgic pulp-tinged wonder, from the lovely artwork of the cards, to the head-turning table presence of the board, to this adorable hello-copter, it’s a decadent treat.

Easily the company’s most visually impressive game, at least until Return to the Dark Tower comes out later this year, behold its dark majesty.
